Poor little Angie has been swallowed by a whale! Can you help them escape?

Content warning: Contains mild cartoon violence.

Made in a total of six man-hours by my girlfriend (art, design, additional code) and me (design and code) for Trijam 255 themed "Darkness within". We knew our plans were somewhat ambitious, but wow, making this in three hours was a huge challenge! We had to cut some stuff (most importantly sound effects), but we're still pretty happy with what came out of it. Hope you enjoy!

Hints / Walkthrough:

How do I power up the monitor? The monitor needs a power source. You'll have to build an unusual battery for that. Maybe you remember it from science class?
How do I open the safe? Once you've powered up the monitor, it should show you how to translate symbols into numbers. Maybe those symbols are found at other places within the whale?
How do I finish the game? Look for a spot within the wall where you can put the dynamite, then set it on fire!
Full Walkthrough:
  1. Collect the potato, the wire and the dynamite.
  2. Combine the potato and the wire to create a potato battery.
  3. Connect the potato battery to the monitor.
  4. Find three pairs of symbols scratched into the wall.
  5. Use the information on the monitor to decode those symbols: 1 -> 3, 2 -> 4 and 3 -> 5.
  6. Enter 345 as the safe's combination.
  7. Click the handle of the safe door.
  8. Collect the knife. Click on it in your inventory to cut yourself free from the anglerfish.
  9. Place the dynamite within the hole in the middle of the room (somewhat hard to spot, basically a red circle).
  10. Use the matches to light up the dynamite.
  11. You won!

Strange little, very easy, very short game... I still don't understand how I had the match ...

Thanks for sharing (your first game ?)

Nope, not our first game at all, but made in 3 hours, which is not a lot of time 😅 (we planned the puzzles beforehand, but all the art and code was done in 3 hours). Thanks for checking it out! 😊
