IMPORTANT NOTE: Setting the Glow setting to Light Organ might be inadvisable for photosensitive people. Otherwise, nothing should be too flashy I hope.

I think it's a grave injustice that so many games make use of being embedded on a torus, while the Moebius Strip, which is IMHO at least equally great, gets so little love from gamedevs. While single little me can't possibly make up for decades of toroidal oppression, I can at least try my best to make a step towards geometric equality.

This game was made over the course of a week for the "The other side"-themed GeoJam hosted by Icoso. I admit that this might be a slightly liberal interpretation of the rules, but at least it gave me a good excuse to learn more about Moebius Strips.

There's no way I can learn how to implement an online scoreboard in a week in a pretty poorly documented programming language, but feel free to post your most impressive scores in the comments.

Intriguing concept :o It took a little while to get used to the speed of my snake, but overall pretty interesting!

Great game. My only complaint is that when your snake moves over a tile whit part of its body on the other side it kills you. And since I can't eat the food on the other side I think you shouldn't be able to die with your snake on the other side.

Thank you! That is very understandable criticism and an inconsistency that already slightly bugged me during development. In the end, I decided to go for this solution because I figured that avoiding your body was mostly a reflex thing while eating food was more of a deliberate decision, so it would be okay to have to consider orientation doing the latter but it would require too much thought for doing the former. Seeing how much confusion it caused, I'm happy to admit though that it was at the very least a questionable design decision.

I love creative games, this was creative.

Okay, it took me a minute to fully figure out what was going on. But once I did, this was really enjoyable to play. Good job on everything!

Great job! I really enjoyed your submission. My only feed back is to be more forgiving when the snake is on the top/down edge. I remember that the original snake gave the player some frames of grace before killing it.

Thank you! That's not a bad suggestion. It's been a while since I played the original snake, to be honest, but that sounds like a good anti-frustration feature. If I get around to doing a post-jam update, I'll definitely consider it.

love the ideia!! Great job!

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

lovely game but sometimes I don't get the squares when I go over them

Hey, thanks for your comment! What you describe is actually not a bug, but an admittedly pretty poorly communicated feature. When the food is on the "other side" of the strip (of course, a Möbius strip only has one side, but it looks like it has two), you can't pick it up. There's actually a color difference between the two locations, but it's very subtle when post-processing ist enabled. To pick up your food, just travel along the strip until you reach its actual position.
